Here is video of our little man walking all around. He is all over the place. Isn't it so cute?

Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, we are finally up and running on our new computer. The old one was so messed up that we had to just start over with a new one. It is pretty snazzy! Anyway, we wanted to try posting again using this new computer.
So, here is our Happy Thanksgiving day picture for you. We had a good Thanksgiving in spite of being away from family. We had other "family-less" families over to celebrate together. There are lots of seminary couples that could not make it home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So, we were family for each other. We still had way more to eat that we needed and Mike even got to watch some football. A nice nap ended the afternoon.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving also.

Quick Houston update
Hello all! I just wanted to let you know that Zane is going to be a big brother! The new baby is expected to arrive sometime in mid-July (if all goes as planned this time). Please pray for a good pregnancy that goes to term. So far everything is going great. My doctors are really being through and taking lots of precautions even this early. We will keep you up to date on the progress of Houston baby #2.
Mike is at the end of his semester. He has only one week of classes, a week off for Thanksgiving and then finals! He is really down to crunch time. He is still quite busy trying to get those last papers written and books read. Please continue to pray for him also.
Zane is doing great. He is starting to walk all around. He still gets a little off balance, but that should be over with soon. We figure that by next week, he will be walking all over the place. It is so cute. I will try to get some video up of it as soon as I can.
I also wanted to let you know that our computer crashed. That is why there are no pictures with this update. I am doing this on Mike's work computer, but all the pics are on our computer that cannot boot up. Hopefully we will get it fixed or get another one soon. We can still check email on Mike's work computer, so we would love to hear from you!

Huber's Farm
We went for a little trip to a local farm. Pumpkins were everywhere! There were games to play, corn mazes (actual mazes through corn fields) to walk, animals to see and ice cream to eat! It was a fun day. We got a few pictures, but then the camera battery died. Thought you might like to see what little we did capture.

Zane crawling
For the longest time, Zane was perfectly happy
doing the "army crawl". He has learned how
much quicker he can go up on his knees.
It is just so cute, I had to share it.

Zane's Haircut
Although this was not Zane's first haircut, it was his first professional haircut. He did wonderful. He loved sitting in the little boat and "driving" his way through his haircut. I don't think he was even concerned about what the lady was doing. He was just driving, driving, driving. The finished product makes him look like such a little boy. He is no longer Mama's baby. My goodness he is growing up so fast!

What a Cutie!
Just thought we would share a few new cute pics. I just love Zane's big. happy smile. You can't help but smile too when you see it. He is just such a blessing and a miracle. Everyday I tell him what a precious gift from God he is. I just hope that one day he really understands just what a miracle he is. Thank you Lord for my precious family.
Zane makes a beeline for the fridge every time it is opened.
I think he just is so curious to see what is in there.

Zane loves playing with his spoons. He always seems to end
up just like this. I think it is too cute.
Check out those teeth. There are two on the top
to go with these two you see.

After bathtime, Zane enjoys being wrapped up like a papoose.
I guess I would too after coming out of a warm bath!

Although he is not up and going on his own yet, Zane is certainly
getting ready to walk on his own. He loves pitter-pattering around the house.

And this is one of my new favorite pictures of Zane.
All that hair spiked up when we wash it. Time for a haircut!

Out on the Pontoon Boat
Last weekend we went with three other couples to the lake. We rented one of those party barge/pontoon things and spent the day in the sun. We stopped and got out in the lake several times to swim. Zane did really great! He was not too sure about the big life vest he had to wear. Other than not really liking that, he was wonderful. He slept well, ate well, played well, and enjoyed the water as much as the big folks did.

LIfe's Little Moments
Here are a few more fun moments of life with Zane. We just love watching him find humor in the little things, try new things, learn to do more, and just live life to the fullest. What an example for the rest of us that have forgotten to just joy in the little things in life.
Here Zane enjoys standing up on his own. He is just so proud of himself when he pulls up without any help. He still loves to have us walk him around, as you will see in the video. He loves exploring new things (like the hanger in the video). He is learning to eat new things. It takes a few tries sometimes. In the video it was avocados that he was trying for the first time. We weren't so sure about them at first, but now they are a favorite. Zane is getting around into everything. He loves finding new things to touch and explore. One day I found him under the clothes hamper. He was just having a ball! Our absolute favorite thing to do is chase Bear, our dog, around. Zane usually is not quick enough to catch Bear unless he sneaks up on him while Bear is sleeping. But with Daddy's help, chasing Bear has all new meaning!
Maybe we can take a lesson from Zane and begin enjoying the little things in life again.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Zane went to his first ballgame a few weeks ago. At first he seemed to be curious and was watching everything. But it did not take long for him to get a little bored with hanging out in the same spot so long. Mike and I have decided that if we want to WATCH the game, we might better go alone for the next little while. But knowing Daddy, it won't be long before Zane knows all the ins and outs of baseball. Go Stros! Or in this case - go Louisville Bats!

Learning New Things
Although he is not up on his feet yet, Zane is definitely
making his way around to where ever he wants to go.
He is really keeping Mom and Dad busy!

Zane has also figured out how to use those little fingers to
pick up things. He has started finger foods and
just loves them. It will be fun to experiment
with different kinds of new foods and see what he thinks.

I am having such fun playing around with this blog. Here is a short slideshow for you. Some of the pictures are older, but still cute none the less. I hope you have as much fun watching as I had making it.

Fathers, friends and funnies
Zane and Mommy wanted to give Daddy
a special one-of-a-kind father's day present.
Mommy and Zane went to one of those
paint-your-own-pottery places and made
Daddy a coffee mug with Zane's hand
and foot print on it. We had a great time
making it. Now Daddy can think of Zane
every time he has coffee at work!

Zane and Bear have really hit it off.
Zane loves to watch Bear and try to grab his hair.
Bear loves to lick all over Zane's hands and feet.
However, Bear is quickly learning not to get too
close to Zane's hands. Zane has gotten quite
a good pull of Bear's hair once or twice.

As you can tell, eating is still quite a messy event.
Mommy usually has to clean Zane up pretty
well after we eat. Zane does not really like
the clean up part. Especially when Mom has
to clean squash out of his nose!

I found out that I can now upload short video clips.
Here is my first attempt to do that. However,
I did not know that if I held the camera sideways,
the video would be sideways also. I cannot figure out
how to rotate it. So, I hope you can just cock your neck
to the side and enjoy. I will do better on the filming
part in the future.
This is a short video of Zane's new favorite activity.
He loves to walk (with assistance). He does not seem
too interested in crawling, although he is beginning
to scoot with his toes. But he ALWAYS wants to
walk around. We have probably walked miles around
our little apartment. He even gets mad when
we sit him down for a break.

Summer Fun
Summer is here and with the warmer weather comes ... swimming! We took Zane swimming for the first time last week. He was a little apprehensive at first, but then seemed to get into it. The second day he fussed a little at first because the water was colder. However, I think that it won't be too long before we have quite a little water baby. He also enjoyed playing in the pool with his friend Caleb.

Summertime is also a great time for taking walks. Apparently, this walk was a little long for Zane. He crashed about halfway home. Doesn't he look so precious?

As many of you know, Mike was able take a trip to South Asia. We have a few pictures of that trip, but the camera battery died fairly quickly. We will be getting a CD with all the pictures that were taken. Hopefully Mike will be in some of those. We will post more of those as we get them. The trip was very nice. Mike said they were able to lay some good ground work for future work. Unfortunately, he did not have as much opportunity to share with people as he would have liked to. As you can tell, the place was beautiful! Mike said he was more relaxed while he was there than he has been in almost a year. The last picture is of a cultural drum ceremony that they American visitors were honored with. I am sure Mike will type an update email with more details. But for now, you can enjoy some pics from the trip.

This past Sunday we had a baby dedication at church. Here is a pic from that. We were nervous that Zane would get in front of the church and fuss. He was tired and it was his lunch time. But no doing! Zane was great. As if we had anything to worry about!

We are beginning to want to be mobile. Zane has no interest in trying to crawl. He never has liked being on his tummy. However, he LOVES to take our hands and walk all around the place. He wears us out! He likes chasing Bear, our dog. It makes it even more fun because Bear wanders away from Zane as he is coming, so Zane just keeps walking around and around following him. I guess we are getting our exercise this way!

Out and About
Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we are out of town this week, so I hope to get some new pics up next week. Mike is on a trip to South Asia. Zane and I came home to see all of the grandparents. We are having a nice visit, but Zane is feeling poorly. Please pray for him to get well. Also please continue praying for Mike while he is out of the country. We will update the blog with news and pictures from both of our trips when we can. Love to all!

Growing up too fast
Great news! Mike has finished this
semester. He is so much more
relaxed. Now he can better enjoy
being a daddy. Thanks for
praying for him!
semester. He is so much more
relaxed. Now he can better enjoy
being a daddy. Thanks for
praying for him!

Several weeks ago Zane found his toes
and loves to taste them.
I am sure he would let you taste
them if you wanted to!

We have been trying very hard to
get Zane to drink his juice from a
sippy cup. This was the second or third
one that we tried. We finally
found a winner (Thanks Aunt Kelly).
This was not the winner, but it
sure is cute picture!

A few weeks ago Zane mastered sitting up.
I wonder if things look different to him from this angle.
My he looks like such a big boy!

Daddy said that there are no pictures
of Mommy on the blog. (That was just
fine with Mom.) He wanted some of
Zane and Mommy too. So, here it is.
Zane was starting to look a little rough. His hair was so long it was hanging
in his eyes. So, a haircut was in order.
Daddy did the honors. Now as you can
tell below, Zane looks like his daddy.
